Local Wildlife

The native bush environment of the park attracts a variety of birdlife, which can be seen throughout the park. Their subtle singing can be heard throughout the day, adding to the tranquil feeling of the area.

The parks family of ducks can often be seen swiming around the pond at the back of the park and if you're lucky you may even spot one of the water dragons as they sunbake.

The local Richmond River has an abundance of birdlife and sealife to see, including seagulls, pippie birds, pelicans and porpises (short nose dolphins). During the whale season, whales can also be seen from the South Wall.

Local Mobbs Bay also offers a great chance for the kids to go snorkelling and see schools of Whiting and Bream swimming in the sandy, shallow waters of its enclosure.
